Hello Friday -- Lily Bee Blog Hop --- Giveaway!!

Eeek!  So excited to share a really fantastic blog hoppin' kind of opportunity today!  And have you seen the sneaks for the new collections?!  Love!  Make sure you visit everybody and get to see ALL the amazing inspiration the Lily Bee Design DT has cooked up for you today!

It is yet another fantastic blog hop!  Things have sure been hoppin' around here haven't they!  This time we are celebrating Lily Bee Designs brand new blog (which is pretty darn fantastic!)

Here's a list of all the spots you'll need to visit.  Make sure you don't miss anyone.  You can go in any order but don't miss anybody!

We have a super fantastic giveaway for you so here is the deal.  Make sure that you hop around to each and every blog and leave a comment (there could be special instructions on each blog so make sure you read carefully!)  We will be giving away a $50 VISA gift card to one lucky winner. Comments will be open until Monday, July 2nd, Midnight EST. We will announce the winner on the 4th of July post.

In honor of our brand spanking new blog and our blog hop, I've created a new layout to share with you.  I have to tell you that I was inspired by Miss Amy Heller's recent layout for my starting point.  Add a little Celine style inspiration and.....Voila!

My main gig here was that I wanted to use the green paper as my background but I didn't want the color quite so strong.  What to do????  Add paint of course to soften the color.

I've also been loving using vellum to add a little extra texture and transparency.

Add one of Julie Fei Fan Balzer's masks and I was truly happy with my background.

Well, except that I had to use the Handmade stamp set to add some more texture, pattern and color variation to the background.

That hexagon stamp combined with Colorbox Frost ink = some wonderful texture!

So now it's your turn to leave a comment for your chance to win.  Tell me, have you ever used paint to significantly change a background paper for a project?  Did you like the result?  Leave your comment here and on each of the other blogs for your chance to win!!!  Happy Hopping!

  41. I've used paint to soften backgrounds, haven't been confident enough in my work to know if I liked it or not actually!!! It's different! I like it when I look at other people's projects, such as this one, but when it comes to showing non-scrappers/cardmakers, I always get the "What's with the paint?" question! So the jury is out! Lovely work here!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have not used paint on my layouts...only a bit of mist sometimes.
