Hello Friday -- December Daily Week 1

I didn't ever get around to sharing my DD this month until now.  Mind you, it's not complete, but I'm a little over half-way.

I used the Studio Calico December Daily kit as a base.  I like the smaller size, it seemed much more manageable.  The pages come together super quickly.

I also used Ali Edwards printable 4x6 templates which date each page.  I used those last year as well and really liked the result.  I considered making them myself but decided it was more cost effective to not reinvent the wheel.

This year, I've kept the whole thing quite a bit more simplified.  I just didn't have as much time to dedicate to it this year but I still really like the end result.  I feel like certain great pieces really add to the feel of a great finished look. One of those items this time is Freckled Fawn's wood chips.  I am in love!

So here goes.

You'll see that the photos show the two facing pages.

The first two days split a heart doily between them.

The border in the text page above is simple a tinsel pipe cleaner sewed to the page.

I'm sharing the text below as there is an event in the life of dear friends of mine that I'd love to have known.  I hope you'll read it and hesitate before calling CPS to interfere in a family situation.  Things are not always as they seem.  In fact, they are rarely as they seem and the CPS organization tends to think it knows far more than a parent, even when many of the involved workers don't even have children of their own. The reality is that many families are wrongfully torn apart as a result.  Please become informed about how CPS really works before you invite them into a situation.  I know of at least 4 families personally who've been unjustly ripped apart.....and many more stories have been told to me second hand.  The concept was good but the execution of the concept is SEVERELY lacking.

I made a few pages from tags and paper and used a two hole punch to insert them into the album. They won't be able to live in sleeves, but I am alright with that.  They'll add texture and dimension and shape that is interesting.

I'll see you next time!  Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Yay! Love all the color and embellishment, esp the red doily (looks like crochet?).

Also glad to know someone else is still working on their DD! I have all my journaling done and in, but haven't printed any pictures or added extra inserts, etc.
