Photo a Day 2012 - February 12 - 18

Hi ladies,
I'm sharing my Photo a Day journey with you again today.  If you think of me, I'd sure appreciate a prayer sent my way for patience and love toward a wayward child.  At present it's about all I can do to hold it together some days.

Sunday, February 12 -- Sunrise on the way to church. It just had a unique feel and I had to capture it for always. It's not exactly how it looked, it was actually darker, but it is a memory of a beautiful ride in to worship our Savior.

Monday, February 13 -- Just one more example of the crazy skies we've been having lately. This is just a small section but I wished I could have caught much more to show how incredible it was.

Tuesday, February 14 --  These two photos were taken within an hour of each other. Talk about fast weather changes. But I am not complaining, I have been itching for snow here at the house this year and while it didn't cover the whole world, it was quite stunning and the best part is that I got to stay home to enjoy it.

Wednesday, February 15 -- Madison doesn't feel its necessary to do her school work. I thought I'd try a little different tactic this time and put her to work scrubbing floors instead, since there is a good chance this will be her profession should she decide to continue ignoring her education. I don't think she's fond of this activity. (Nor am I of this tactic, but sometimes, you have to come at it from a different direction) And what's more, I now have clean grout lines. There's got to be a silver lining somewhere.

Thursday, February 16 -- Hunter's regular thing on a Thursday morning is to have his guitar lesson with Kirk. I think it may be his favorite part of the week, or at least one of them.

Friday, February 17 -- There was a challenge today to share your desk without cleaning it on Studio Calico. This is what mine looked like. I thought it was quite a mess. That is until I saw all the other girl's desks.

Saturday, February 18 -- We did a real photo shoot of the wee baby Jack today. The only trouble with photographing baby Jack is that you don't get to also snuggle at the same time. You can only do one thing at a time unfortunately.

That's all she wrote, at least for this week!  There were some really beautiful moments.  The unexpected snow, snuggling with baby Jack, sharing knowledge of photography with a group of ladies who lapped it up like water for the thirsty.  I am so thankful for those.

Hope your day is blessed!

  12. Great photos! Hey, sometimes tough love works. My mom had to go that route with me when I was questioning college. I was a great student and worked hard but I was tired of working hard. So she took me to work with her and I saw how hard she worked and how she was treated without a degree. She'd worked hard for 30 years to get to the same level my dad did right after college. There were both engineers but the pay and the treatment were different. Seeing that pointed me to college and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

  13. Beautiful photos! Tough love is tough, but it is true love. I agree with Erica above. I had to work from 8th grade up (through out the school year and summer) to help my mom pay the bills 'cause she didn't have a degree so her job options were only the low paying kind. All that work pushed me to make sure I got a degree so I wouldn't have the same worries. I'll keep you and yours in my thoughts.

  15. What beautiful skies you got to experience! You're in AZ, right? I love living in OR, but one thing about AZ that I do miss is the glorious skies.

Lord knows, patience with my children is an area where I need constant work & improvement. Here's hoping you find some! :)
