I think I have a new love affair going with Hexagons. Somehow, they just seem like such an elegant shape.
Today I'm sharing the last of my projects for Scrapbook Circle with you. This last project's challenge was to focus on one product for their 'One Product Wonder' category. I got to put the focus on the fabulous paper from My Mind's Eye 'Be Amazing' paper from the 'Follow Your Heart' Collection.
I stared at the this one for a good while before deciding how I'd use it. I like looking at it just as it is. But I'm not one for using something this busy as the background so I knew I'd have to cut it up somehow.
I decided I'd cut out the hexagons and then form my own version of the paper on a sheet of pale yellow cardstock.
Here is the result
I went ahead and cut a lot of the hexagons into six 'pieces of pie' and then fitted them back together again in a mixture of yummy pattern and color. That was a great deal of fun. All that was left was to add a couple of photos, die cut the words for the title and add embellishments.
I decided to stitch around every single hexagon shape, which took a very LONG time, but it was worth it! I'm pleased with the resulting color and texture. Never underestimate the power of a bit of stitching. It can really add wow factor to your project.
I had such fun working with Scrapbook Circle. All the girls over there are super helpful and they put together a great kit every month. Do be sure and see what they have in store for next month.
Look out for tomorrow as Elle's Studio's new Inspiration Gallery will be LIVE! I've got three new projects to share with you over there! Can't wait!
