Make Your Own Patterned Washi Tape video tutorial!

Hey friends!

I have made my very first video tutorial.  I hope you'll take a look at it.  I will be needing some honest critiquing on this one.  It's my first time so let me know any ideas for how to improve.

I sure don't want to bore anyone to tears!  You will be hearing my cat (her name is Mouse and she wanted to say hello.  I think she was annoyed that SHE wasn't the center of attention)

A few questions I have are:

  • Is this too long?
  • Do I talk too much?
  • Can you see the images well enough?
  • Is there more info you would have liked to hear about?

I mentioned that I'd link the tapes here so that you can pick them up if you'd like to.  The thin tape is Linen White Crepe Masking Tape  and the other is Japanese White Tape-Solid White.  I also mentioned the Ranger Ink non-stick matt which you can find here.

And be sure to show me your completed projects.  I can't wait to see how everyone uses this technique.

  1. Love this idea! I need to go get me some white Washi Tape and make some!! The light color ink didn't really show on the video, so maybe try using the darker colors for future videos. The video was a bit long for me, but I have a very short attention span. LOL Great Job with the video though. Love to see more!

  3. You did a fantastic job. I loved it & thought you did great for your first tutorial! I would love to see more in the future. MY fave videos are ones that lead you through the page process as you create the layout on the video. I would love to see one of those one day! Also, congrats on layout of the week at SC. I just noticed you won!

  5. Fabulous idea!!! You did a wonderful job for your first tutorial! :) Bit long for me too, maybe have one or two of tapes already done and stop taping when you are cleaning the pad. Otherwise I though it was very good. Your personality definitely came through. I like that. :)

  6. Great video, even more considering it's your first one! I would say that it's a bit long too since the technique is not really complicated (because you explain so well hihi).

Great job, I'm really looking forward to watching more of your videos!

  7. I commented earlier, but my comment isn't showing up.

Great video. Like others said, it's hard to see the light colors. I liked that you talked when cleaning the pad because what you were saying was really valuable (at least to me). I would probably change the intro and conclusion to put the intro in words as text in a post and then maybe the information you had in the conclusion, show that in the video instead of using the same stamp three times. Does that make sense? I thought the tutorial part itself was great and the perfect length!

  9. Great tutorial, especially for your first time! Keep them coming! Only two things that may enhance them a bit: a bit more light, especially in your workspace. It may help in the view of the product????? And as said before, after showing one or two stamped, have the other two done, and then just show us the different colors. But again, it was really good for a first time try! Love the content. That's a super idea!

  12. Loved the technique and the video was great! My only critic would be that the lighting went from dark to light in a few spots and that made it difficult to see what you were doing. Can't wait to see more from you!
