One last Haul!

I ventured into the world of deep frying the other night. I found a wonderful recipe for boneless chicken wings and I made it!  I was truly shocked that the breading did just what I wanted it to.  Amazing what a little hot oil will do to some flour!  I will acknowledge that I cheated and didn't make my own sauce as I had a bottle of Asian Zing from Buffalo Wild Wings in the pantry.

It worked, it looked good, it tasted good and I may even do it again.  Caveat?  Deep frying is very messy and VERY wasteful of oil.  But it sure does = delicious and I felt like a restaurant chef.

And now, on to a sadder note.  My LSS has just announced this week that it is closing. We have one other but the Customer Service is so bad that I refuse to go in there and spend my money.

So, of course, I had to go down and help them get rid of things.  With that in mind, I'm sharing a few pictures of 'my last haul'.  It makes me sad to see them go, but I totally understand why they are doing it.  The owner is about to deliver her very first baby!  Yay Katie!  And as you know, the economy is in the tank.  So, she can either make no money while running a store, or make no money while at home watching her precious little one grow and learn.

I know which one I'd choose.

So long Making Memories Unforgettable in Tucson, Arizona.  I'll sure miss you!

  1. Is MMU the one in Tucson? If it is, that's a shame. Even though I haven't been there in several years, it was a nice store. I found lots of new (to me) stuff there. You got a pretty nice haul there!

We have a deep fryer and enjoy using it, but you're right. It can get messy and it wastes a lot of oil. Your chicken wings look good.

  9. The chicken looks yummy, but you are right, deep frying is messy, so I don't do it very often. Sorry to hear your LSS is closing. Stores can re-open but children growing up only happens once! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment, love what I see here!

  14. I'm so sad to hear that MMU is closing. :( That was my LSS when we lived in Tucson. When I first started scrapbooking I visited them probably every week! I remember roaming the aisles with Gabe in his stroller and just dreaming up layouts.
