As I shared, we recently visited with Madison and in the layout below, I'm sharing what must be my favorite photo from our time together.
Madison has never been terribly fond of hugs from us. It is one of the things that many parent who adopt older children can expect. When a child is taken from everything they know, they aren't thankful a lot of the time. Sometimes that might be true, but it certainly wasn't in this case.
So when I suggested this photo and Maddie seemed genuinely happy about it, it gave me a joy I don't think I can describe.
I used October's Scrapbook Circle kits, News Flash, Bulletin and Happening Now to create this page. I tried to keep the design relatively simple, focusing mainly on the photo.
Aside from the photo, the feature I like best is the way that graphic black and white stripe draws you into the page. It's a simple design, but one that grabs attention very effectively.
I also like using a black and white photo so that whatever colors of embellishments and patterned papers I choose to use, they will go perfectly. In this case, bright and happy fit the bill perfectly.
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your week is starting off well.
