New Layout -- October Afternoon Fun

I have to confess that I love October Afternoon.  They mimic vintage and use lots of well saturated color.  Both of these things make me super happy!

So of course, it's a perfect marriage in my book.

I decided to make a layout almost exclusively from some of my fun collection of OA paraphernalia.  As often happens, what I started with is NOT what I finished with.  I thought in the beginning I'd use the back side of the 'Capture the Flag' paper as a pretty key part of my project.  After all, it was going to be about snuggling with Baby Jack and rocking and singing are certainly part of that activity.

Product # PP704

It's a great paper, don't you think?!  However, I ended up using only the small title and a few bits from this paper as this other paper got my attention and demanded that I feature it instead.  This one is titled 'Marbles' and is also from the Sidewalks collection.  Highly recommended!

Product # PP706

I did this layout because I wanted to capture my wonder and joy in snuggling with my dearest friends newborn baby, Jack.  Honestly, I still have more to do to truly capture that moment so you may be seeing another page on the same topic because I'm not satisfied that I fully described how it felt.

I'm going to guess that you'll be able to see how I was inspired.  Can you pick out the 'Sing and Rocking' title???

Along with the October Afternoon goodies, I added some MME stamps and brads, some AC Thickers, 7Gypsies roller stamps, Maya Road vintage doilies, Epiphany Crafts Buttons and of course my Silhouette.

It took some finessing but I'm pretty happy with the final result.  What do you think?

Hope you have a great weekend.  Don't forget to check out Elle's Studio for the Saturday fun!

  9. Lovely page! Really like the design. Now that you've used up some OA stash, does that justify buying some of the new stuff that's just come out? ;-)

  12. Oh, how I love to snuggle a baby :) I have a 2 and 4 y/o, soooo I've had a hard time deciding lately if I want to go for a 3rd. I'm thinking I'll let my sister that gets married this summer have the next one and I can spoil it and still sleep all night long. LOL
