December Daily 2011--Cover

Hello chickadees! Well, I don't know how likely it is that I'll get my foundations all done in time for the new month, but I'll do my best. At least I have the cover completed now. Here it is.

I started with white gesso (took about 4 coats to fully cover it and almost an entire container of gesso)

Next, using this design from Silhouette, I cut a mask and painted the design in grey.  But that turned out too bold for my tastes so I added two more coats of gesso over the top of that to make it very light.

Next, I made a mask of triangles and misted a border of those along the opening edge.  Again, it was darker than I preferred, so this time I misted using Studio Calico Mister Huey Calico White mist.

Then I cut out this frame from the Silhouette store using some Crate paper from the Random collection.

Layer and play to end up with the final result you see below.
