I've been trying to be motivated to make more cards (as per my
previous post) but I am afraid I kind of stink at it.(meaning I stink at doing it very often) I think it may be partly because I don't look at enough cards for inspiration.
I know that when I am looking at project and layout galleries I get really inspired. Maybe I need to subscribe to Scrapbook Trends Cards eh.
How do you get inspired to create cards? Tell me all your tips and secrets so that I can learn from all you expert card-makers!
For now, take a peek at my latest card.
This particular card was very much inspired by this layout! I made the layout and had the negative cut-outs from the flowers. I took a look at those and thought, 'Now wouldn't that make a fun card! And voila! What do you think?
I love this card! I think it is great! :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card! great way to use up some of those pretty scraps.
ReplyDeleteI also love this card! I think it is harder to work on a smaller scale. I usually try to find a sketch to jump start my creativity when it comes to card making.
ReplyDeleteit's gorgeous! when I start to make a card I think of it as a small part of a layout. I dont know it that will help or not but it works for me.
ReplyDeleteUrsula - that is such a pretty card! Stacy Julian suggested in her big picture book to make a card after a layout using scraps. So I go through spurts where I do that. Which is kind of what you did!
ReplyDeleteWell, you certainly don't stink at it! These are Fab! Maybe for a challenge to make a new card you should think of it as a small little layered embelishment that you would use on a LO. or you could go for simple and undestated usung your favorite label or add as inspiration! I'm not great at cards but there is some amazing talent out there on the internet and at SC! Can't wait to see what you make. Oh, and thanks for visiting my blog lately! I hope you do the callenge...I'd love to send you happy mail!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love what you did with this! Beautiful card!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. I get most of my card inspiration from the Papercraft and Papertry Ink blog.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! I love making cards as well but like you I don't make them often enough, i need to change that. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely card! Those flowers are super cute!!! When I make a card, I usually start with my embellishments or focal point of my card and then work backwards to the base. That seems backwards doesn't it? :) It just seems easier that way!
ReplyDeleteloving the layers!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your card, those flowers are so neat! Almost all of my inspiration comes from sketches, those and color combo challenges.
