The truth is, this particular blossom has been rather sad from the get go. It's just kind of wilty and sickly looking. Not at all what a rose blossom ought to be. However, with the light from the sun shining through, it became quite glorious.
It put me in mind of how Christ comes into the lives of broken, imperfect people and shines a miraculous light through their brokenness to create beauty from the ashes. I am so grateful for His intervention in my life. He's had to shine light on things that were painful to see at the time, but now, they are places that provide safety and life for others. What a gift that is coming from a life such as mine.
I got to play in the new City of Lights kit from Studio Calico to make this page. I am especially enamored with the tissue paper from Pink Paislee. Had lots of fun gathering that ruffle from it.
I doubled the tissue paper, which I'd cut into a 2.5 inch strip and then gathered by hand. I glued it down and then stitched using the twine from the the kit.
The photo didn't need a lot of embellishments to compete with it so I kept things simple and clean.
Hope your Monday is a good one. See ya next time and thanks for stopping by.
