Well what else can I do? I had to make a layout! I needed a bit of humor to add to this situation. There are some things you must laugh at or you'll just dissolve into a heap of tears on the floor. Sooooo
I got out my trusty Lily Bee Design goodies and got to work. I've been having kind of a love affair with arrows lately. They go perfectly with a travel theme don't you think?!
I also used those Basic Grey White alpha stickers from the 'Basics' line. (Yes, that is so yesterday but I still love it. If only I could figure out what font that is I could make my own. I need to work on that.)
My daughter has an Android phone (which I am hoping to be able to acquire, or an iphone, very soon) and so we played with the new Instagram for Android app on our trip. IN LOVE!
I also may have a slight obsession with transparent layers at present so my wax paper is getting good use. (Honestly, what is that stuff for anyway if not for use in my scrap projects??)
The Lily Bee Blog featured this layout and another by Miss Summer Fullerton yesterday so be sure and check them out for some fun ideas.
Have a beautiful day.
Ack! I admit I am onw of the ones who chimed in about the unthreaded buttons!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove all of your arrows and the way that you have documented the oh so awful price of gas!
I wont tell you what we pay for petrol here - it would make your hair stand on end! I love those gingham Lilybee papers. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteoooooo I love the grungy feel on this one!
ReplyDeleteI actually like some buttons with out to be honest oh and im lazy haha
ReplyDeleteAnd like Claire you would not believe how much we pay here for gas, crazy prices and just going up and up
Love it all your arrows are fabulous and i love the alpha stickers :)
You make me laugh and this page is lovely. I love arrows and I do not like the hike in gas prices, but it is always the same higher gas prices when we have more time to drive...sigh
ReplyDeleteLove your arrows and the instagrams! I try not to think about the price of gas, too depressing.
ReplyDeleteso funny, I remember working at a gas station and at the time it was like 40 cents a litre, now it is $1.40 a litre here, and I remember back them people screaming at me, the person selling the gas, as if I got a share or something. Great layout.
ReplyDeleteSO fun! Gas was 88 cents when I started driving. I paid $4.02 this morning. "Ack!!" is right!
ReplyDeletelove the everyday life type of pages--- imagine in 20 years what they may say about the price of gas in your layout--- (talk about possibly being scary!!)
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Love this...you can look back in some years when we are paying around 8 bucks for gas and say "I remember when"! Hopefully not! Ha
ReplyDeleteLove this layout! Not only the products and how you put it together, the artfulness (is that a word?) but also documenting a day in your life. I love those kinds of layouts, ones you will look back on and say "oooh yeah, I remember that!" Great job! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun page and so so true. Love the arrows.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to document a not so fun thing. I totally love the bottom right side of the layout. You had me LOLing about it. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis is cool! 10 years from now you'll probably look back on this layout and wish gas were this cheap! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI love this layout! I am glad that I am not the only one taking pictures of the gas pump :) We recently took a trip to California and the gas prices were insane! One station was $4.39 a gallon. It made me appreciate the "lower" prices here in Nevada. I took a picture of the pump with my husband's reflection in the glass. He just laughed.
ReplyDeleteLove the page. Love the concept. Totally agree with the price sticker shock. Those arrows are great.
ReplyDeleteSo true, so true.................Great layout, you never know maybe fossil fuels will be a thing of our past so it is good to keep something of this age, even if it is a history of rising cost!!
ReplyDeletelove the layout...and the use of the wax paper! and yes, it's crazy how much gas keeps selling for. i'm only in my 20's but i remember when i had my first car and could fill it up for $16!
ReplyDeleteThis LO is really pretty! Nice stitching hehe. I love how you chopped off the top to add a tab!!!
